AI can write perfect emails, craft flawless proposals, and generate cool content. And yet, I find myself increasingly drawn to messages with typos, excessive exclamation points, and unfiltered enthusiasm.
Like this one I received recently on Linkedin.
I was overjoyed (also because I kind of fanboy this person from far) Her words hit me like that first sip of morning coffee. A jolt of energy. A reminder of why we're here.
In a world increasingly dominated by AI-generated content (which I love and use daily), there's a hunger for genuine human expression.
That unmistakable resonance when someone brings forth what's sincerely inside them.
It reminded me of a profound quote from The Gospel of Thomas that Gregg Braden highlights in his book The Wisdom Code (highly recommended)
"If you don't bring forth what's inside you, what you bring forth will kill you.
If you bring forth what's inside you, what you bring forth will save you." (and others)
This isn't just spiritual wisdom. It's practical business advice. When you just go through the motion - whether writing emails, giving presentations, or having conversations - you slowly kill your spirit. The work drains you. You feel depleted rather than energized. But when you bring your genuine voice to every interaction, something remarkable happens. The work itself becomes a source of energy rather than a drain on it.
Here's what I've noticed:
Sincerity trumps quantity in an AI-saturated world.
You need both, yes.
But if you want your work to give you life (and I assume you do), remember:
A single authentic connection creates more impact than dozens of perfectly optimized but soulless interactions. You can tell if someone is copy and pasting.. and it kinda turns you off.
This applies to everyone in every professional context - founders pitching investors, employees in team meetings, salespeople connecting with prospects.
Even the most mundane business activities will *feel different* when infused with your sincere voice.
Here's a question worth asking yourself:
Do you feel more alive or dead after work? Happily exhausted, or just drained?
Pay attention to your energy state. It reveals whether you're bringing forth what's genuinely inside you or slowly killing your spirit with performative work.
I nudge you to identify one interaction today where you can bring forth more of your genuine voice.
Notice how it affects both you and the person you're connecting with. It might just save you both.
With love,
Khuyen
